Guest Curators: Jason Chen and Sara McCorriston, Paradigm Gallery

Paradigm Gallery + Studio® exhibits contemporary artwork from around the world with a focus on Philadelphia-based artists. Established February 2010, the gallery began as a project between co-founders and curators, Jason Chen and Sara McCorriston, as a space in which to create artwork, to exhibit the work of their peers, and to invite the members of the community to create and collect in a welcoming gallery setting. To this day the gallery still aims to welcome all collectors, from first time to lifelong, and continues to support accessible work that welcomes a wide audience.

Annual International Women's Print Issue Selected Artists
DSC_0155.jpg

Congratulations to the following artists selected for our first annual International Women's Print Issue!

We received an incredible response to this opportunity and it was extremely challenging for our team to choose such a limited amount of artists out of hundreds of submissions.

We are so thankful for everyone who took the time and effort to submit to our magazine. We want artists to know that we keep work permanently on file and review it for appropriate opportunities and curatorial projects.

Let's celebrate this small and brilliant selection of women in our art community! The issue release date eta is mid-March 2019.

Create! Magazine Issue 12 Finalists Announced

Issue 12 finalists announced!

Huge congratulations to the artists selected for our two-year anniversary issue! It was no easy talk to pick only 35 artists as we received tons of amazing submissions. Thank you so much to all those who participated.

Our guest curator for this issue is Kaly Scheller-Barrett. She is a visual artist and poet hailing originally from Bavaria. Drawing heavily from her extensive training in craft technique, Kaly’s work attempts to blur the boundaries between fine art and craft practices, asking the viewer to un- and re-frame their preconceptions of material. Kaly recently completed an MFA in Sculpture at California College of the Arts where she taught Craft Theory and is currently the Associate Director of Hashimoto Contemporary.

Stay tuned for pre-orders or subscribe at www.createmagazine.store to receive this issue.

February/March 2018 Issue Contents

Congratulations to the artists selected by our guest curators the TAX Collection for the February/March 2018 edition.

The TAX Collection is a New York based multi-media platform for artists, galleries and creatives. The organization has been featured in Forbes, Vogue Italy, Nylon Korea and more.

"The TAX Collection is a multi-modal creative platform aimed at revolutionizing the way popular culture interacts within producer-consumer, artist-audience, and creator-user relationships. Culture stagnates around specific icons and imagery for no apparent reason; it simply just does. The general public has been duped, allowing themselves to be misled into subscribing to industry set standards and trends. Durkheim explains that anything can be considered sacred through the act of setting it apart. We pose the rhetorical question, ‘Who says?’ Sacred things are not set apart because they are special; sacred things are special because they are set apart. Just as in popular culture, trends dominate consumer desire and, in turn, creators and artists are tailored to design what the consumer considers trendy - stifling artistic freedom of expression."
